WW2 YUGOSLAVIAN FASCIST ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER.

This is a very good example of the scarce Fascist Yugoslavian army officers dagger 1939 model. Brass crown pommel shows excellent detail with simple brass crossguard. The brown leather grip is in fine condition. Near mint plain blade, the obverse side is etched with a coat of arms and motto, the reverse side is etched with a large crowned double head eagle with closed wings. Complete with matching brass scabbard with with three scabbard mounts, the top mount obverse side also displays a double headed crowned eagle with folded wings. The Yugoslavian Government of the late 1930's were pro German but in early 1941 a group of military officers removed the government, this action incensed Adolf Hitler who decided to invade the country which then delayed the invasion of Russia by several months which probably had long term consequences for Germany and possibly changed the outcome of the war on the Russian front.
