GERMAN FIRE SERVICE OFFICERS DAGGER BY EICKHORN.
This rare dagger features the Eickhorn single oval trade mark of a squirrel and letters C E, this pattern trade mark was used by Eickhorn from the late 1920's until about 1934 so this dagger could date from the Third Reich period, very early HJ knifes can be found with this trade mark. Silver pommel is in fine condition, the crossguard features the design of a fire service helmet and crossed axes to the obverse and is plain on the reverse side. Black leather grip shows just very light wear mostly on the reverse side. The impressive blade measures 33cm long and it is double etched with long foliage panels featuring fire fighting designs such as, ladders, fire service helmets and axes, the reverse side features as mentioned above the Eickhorn Solingen single oval trademark. Complete with black leather scabbard with matching silver metal fittings which are held in place by a single metal staple to each fitting on th reverse side. A very nice and difficult to find dagger. [Condition: Near Mint]
