NAVAL OFFICERS DAGGER 1938 MODEL BY HORSTER WITH RARE IVORY GRIP.
This is a beautiful naval officers dagger that would be a highlight of any collection. Fine detail to the eagles head hilt. The grip is a high quality deluxe ivory example, these ivory grips were an extra cost item and they were very expensive at the time and so are seldom found, the grip has fine aging and several hairline cracks which are often seen on old ivory and is actually nice to see. The blade is by Horster Solingen and it is double etched with the dolphin and fouled anchor design, there is slight age wear to the blade but over all it is still very nice blade with good detail to the blade etching. The scabbard is the hammered type and it is in perfect condition still retaining some original gilt finish. Complete with gold naval knot. A very attractive and rare deluxe example. [Condition: Exc++]
