VERY RARE DELUXE QUALITY HUNTING ASSOCIATION DAGGER,SHORT MODEL BY EICKHORN
Although there were a number of manufacturers of Third Reich Hunting Association daggers there was only two makers of the rare deluxe quality short model, Eickhorn and Alcoso. Fine quality staghorn grip complete with swastika hunting association badge. The silver pommel cap is decorated with oakleaves, the pommel screw is a finely detailed acorn, the deer hoof crossguard is also decorated with oakleaves. The silver clamshell features a large bird standing on a branch. All silver finish to the metal fittings is in fine condition with very little wear. The blade is by Eickhorn Solingen featuring the stamped 1935 / 41 pattern trade mark, the blade is double etched with hunting designs, stags in forest, hunter with gun and dogs attacking a wild boar, there is some slight age spotting to the blade but nothing substantial, this is still an extremely nice blade. The leather scabbard is in superb condition, the lower fitting is decorated with a stag amongst foliage. A very rare dagger, in over 30 years collecting and dealing this is only the 3rd deluxe short model hunter I have owned. [Condition: Exc++]
