Fine detail to the silver pommel and eagle crossguard. The orange celluloid grip is in very nice condition. The beautiful quality near mint blade is produced in genuine damascuse steel and seems to be a combination of maiden hair and small rose bud pattern, this truly is a fine blade and really a work of art, the tang of the blade is stamped by the smith CW which is initials for Carl Wester who was a well known and highly respected Damscuse smith working during the Third Reich period. The matching silver scabbard is also in fine condition. Although you see many imperial edged weapons with damascuse blades during the Imperial German period, it is extremely rare to find Third Reich edged weapons with Damasuse blades. Exc++
