WW1 GERMAN SAW BACK BAYONET MODEL 1898 COMPLETE WITH FROG .

This is the model bayonet often referred to as the butchers bayonet because of it massive clever like blade. The blued metal hilt fittings are in excellent condition and the rifle slot is still in working order with waffen amp mark to the reverse side of the pommel. The brown wooden grip plates are in excellent condition. The massive blade is the very desirable sawback type and it is very impressive, it is maker marked on the reverse side, Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Obehndorf , the spine of the blade has a waffen stamp which is marked 17 for 1917. Black anodised steel scabbard with a couple of small, very minor and insignificant dents. Complete with black leather frog hanger. A very nice complete set.
